Apple Crisp - from Whole Foods for the Whole Family From the kitchen of kelpiep

  • 6-8 apples
  • 1/2 C. raisins
  • 1/3 C water
  • 1 C. rolled oats
  • 1/2 C. whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 C. wheat germ
  • 1/2 C. butter
  • 1/2 C. paked brown sugar
  • 2 t. cinnamon

Spread sliced apples in buttered 9x13-inch baking pan. Sprinkle with raisins and water. Combine remaining ingredients in bowl; mix well. Sprinkle over apples. Bake at 350ยบ for 30 to 40 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm or cold, plain or with topping of milk, yogurt or vanilla ice cream. May omit raisins or substitute rye flour for whole wheat flour, honey for brown sugar or oil for butter.
