Pork butt big enough that I couldn’t fit it in the 8x8 baking dish, had to use the 9x12. Shoulder bone in.
One large white onion cut into rings and laid on the bottom. Ten or so cloves of garlic smashed or cut.
K-Pauls meat rub seasoning - use more! and more! Rub it in there good! It comes in a small tube and I used half and that wasn’t enough.
- 1 18oz bottle of Kraft Honey Smokey BBQ sauce
- 1/2 32oz box (so 16oz) of Swanson chicken broth
- 10 or so healthy dashes of Crystal hot sauce
- 16-20oz water to thin it out a bit
pour this along the sides of the butt, not over the top (don’t want to wash off that rub) cover tightly with foil
200 degree oven.
put it in at 10 at night, flip it once at midnight before you go to sleep. Pull it out at 6.
Pull the butt off and throw it in another dish that you can put in the fridge. Shred with tongs if you’re awake, if not … do that later.
Strain the liquid from the bottom of the pan, save it to put over the pork later. Add more BBQ sauce at the table if necessary.
