Pesto JTJ From the kitchen of trey

Ingredients

  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 1/2 cup Pine Nuts (or walnuts)
  • 2 cup Basil Leaves (washed & dried, no stems, cut into pieces with scissors)
  • 3/4 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan Cheese (shredded)
  • 2 tbsp Butter (optional)

Steps

In a food processor with a very sharp blade:

  1. Blend garlic & pine nuts to paste
  2. Add basil and blend some more
  3. Slowly add olive oil while blending until creamy
  4. Mix in parmesan cheese and butter and blend slightly
  5. Put in a jar and cover with a layer of olive oil and place in fridge
